Culture Quest India! Why our projects are related

Throught out the deration of the SIFT program my group members and I learned many interestering facts about India’s culture. We all branched off and chose a different subjucet to reaserch. All of our subjects link together to bring out the beuty of indias culture. Shayne chose Indias Music, Pebbles chose culture in general, Elicia chose weddings, and Maya chose to research Indias danceing, Another one of our topics chosen by Brittany, was clothing. These topics relate by all being part of indias unique and unreplicable society. They also are aspects of Indian’s everyday life.

Summer Institute for Future Teachers

On July 8, 2007 all of the participants arrived at Eastern Connecticut State University. Most of us not knowing what to expect or how the program would be. Some of us had never been away from home for weeks at a time so it was a new experience. But, once we were at Eastern and involved in classes together we began to realize that we really did not want to leave. All of this group, each and every person has/ had something to bring to this program. Whether its the gift of singing, dancing, or the gift of patients. Everyone has/ had something to offer to this amazing program.

I am writing from the last week of the program and from where I am sitting this program could not have come at a better time for me. Being in my last year of highschool this program helped me and many of my other peers to realized that teaching is one of the most important occupations that there are. SIFT was an amazing program and was so helpful to all of us. I honestly could not see my self being anywhere else this summer. It was the most defifical thing for all of us.

Now we know if teaching will be the right profession for us. I know that in the long run this program helped me tremendously and my group as well.
